Holiday data, open to inspection.
Calculations use a versioned snapshot of official holiday dates. We do not silently estimate missing years.

|---|---|---|---|
| US Federal | 11 | 12 | 10 |

| Scotland | 10 | 9 | 9 |
| Northern Ireland | 10 | 10 | 10 |
US counts are grouped by the actual observed date, not the holiday’s nominal year. New Year’s Day 2028 is observed on 31 December 2027. The 2029 OPM schedule was also checked: it adds no observed date in 2028.
Observed and substitute holidays
The US snapshot includes the dates OPM publishes as observed. In 2027 these include 18 June, 5 July, 24 December and 31 December. The UK snapshot includes 27 and 28 December 2027 as the Christmas and Boxing Day substitutes.
Changing weekend days in the developer engine does not recalculate holiday observance for a different federal work schedule. It changes weekend exclusions only; the published holiday dates stay fixed. This is not a federal employee entitlement calculator.
Counting and update policy
Dates are calculated as calendar dates using UTC day arithmetic. Your device timezone does not shift entered dates. Today is resolved separately in the chosen US timezone or Europe/London. Ranges default to including both endpoints; date addition and subtraction exclude the start.
This is a checked snapshot, not a live government feed. Special holidays or official revisions announced later will require review, updated data and regression tests before publication. Until then, results describe this snapshot. Requests outside its coverage are rejected.
